First off the Portable uses a 3.5", 1/3 height 50-pin SCSI drive just like a desktop Mac, unlike the 2.5" SCSI in the PB100. Second, the Portable has a clean, active-matrix screen (even if it's only black and white) whereas the PB100 has a crappy, passive-matrix one. Third, the portable has a DB-25 SCSI port built in, along with space for one (or TWO!) floppy drives. Oh, and it has half of one kilobyte of cache, compared to none on the PB100. Other than that, they're pretty much the same.Lieutenant EL CINE, 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Master of the Mac II series forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 4 |

Yeah, the portable is a better choice, especially since you can use any 3.5" SCSI drive, instead of a rare and expensive 2.5" one. Just keep in mind that it will weigh a TON!Lieutenant EL CINE, 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Master of the Mac II series forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 4 |

Well okay, not quite a ton, but sixteen pounds quickly becomes a serious burden when you're lugging it from class to class.Lieutenant EL CINE, 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Master of the Mac II series forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 4 |
