Yep...I am now the proud owner of an 840av...It is technically a liberation...even though I got it on EBay. The metal cover has a huge dent in it, the back is cracked, apparently from being dropped, and it looks like coffee was spilled in the top speaker grille, which explains why the speaker is non-functional. The dead speaker scared me at first..NO CHIME! ahhh!..then I plugged my speakers in, and it had a chime. It didn't start up though, so I pulled the video card-an apple Hi Res, and it started up fine...It was already named out of the box- Calvin. I already have it hooked up to a vcr, and I love it!

Boy, it seems like everybody's getting 840av's, lately!

The next upgrade to mine is looking to be a DigiDesign SA-4 Nubus card and accompanying 442 Quad I/O box! Assuming my eBay skills and finances are up to the challenge, that is.

Opps. My fault. I blabbed too much cool info about them

Seriously though, it's a good thing as they are moving from places where they are redundant to places where they are being actively used. Mine for example is my VT station.

I also think it has something to do with them being the fastest 68k out there *before* you consider the DSP chip.

Great to hear about the safe delivery!
It makes me wish that I had one.
