You need to set the SCSI ID to a different number, you need PC campatiblitie installed to read it or if not you can format it.Jeremy "I'll see you on the Dark Side Of The Moon" - Pink Floyd Covert Ops 68k Hacks General Macs Liberated:18 ENTER THROUGH THE GATES |

what are you booting from? what tools are you using to look for it/initialize it? what's an Mmac? is it internal or external, what's on the chain and how are the cables and termination configured. we haven't got enough info to determine much of anything.jt ™. . The 40 gig should also not be set to 0, 0 is for the scsi controller. Set them to 1 and 2 and be sure that the second drive is terminated correctly. Whichever drive is furthest on the chain should be the terminating drive. Atleast this is what I would try.Working: PM 8500 g3 420mhz (Daisy) Quadra 950 w/ videovision studio card ;-) (Christina) Quadra 650 Performa 476 PB 165 Classic Newton 130 Non-working... actually the internal is customatily ID 0, you are correct about the default boot order, that's why the internal (normally the boot drive) is set to 0, the Mac's controller is hardwired as ID 7, the last device (first ironically) on the 8 device chain.SCSI voodo strikes again! bleh! i LOVE SCSI Probe! sounds like it's time for HDT or another third party drive format utility to come into play. jt ™. . p.s. that's assuming the new HDD is connected and terminated properly wherever its location might be? OK, i'm going to expose my stupidity, but is the server 68k.torpedobird.com? and if it is, then where exactly is fwb hard disk toolkit on it? I've looked and can't find it That was the one thing I needed the most the other day when I was looking for retromac68k.
