I want to see it, but I'll probably won't; just like I wasn't able to take time out of studying to see Spider-Man.

Probably. I wasn't able to take time out of school, so I had to go to a showing after school (4 PM). We (a group of friends and myself) got tickets really easy. No lines or anything! (http://www.movietickets.com) Really cool.

After everyone sees it we should continue this thread with a discussion about the movie.

What was your favorite part?
I'd say now but I don't want to spoil the movie for those that haven't seen it yet.

All of the light-sabering. That's a verb now. So, did you laugh at...well...that bit at the end? The entire theatre was cracking up the whole time

it was awesome, i just saw it this morning with the kid. we were in the second row, what a gorgeous production!

i love the way they do design takeoffs on real life like the combat transports that were styled after Russian MI-24 Hind Gunships.

is there anyplace to find out what famous people got extra/cameo roles, i swear one of the bar patrons was stockard channing. they had that character prominently on camera in at least two or three shots.

Man oh man oh man!
I just got back from AotC, and it TOTAAALLLY ROCKS!

Three thumbs up!
Some of the dialog was a little, err, stilted, but the epic, grand scale of it all just carried me away...
Plus, I got to see it on a digital projection system (one of the advantages of living here in Las Vegas, I guess), and the picture was sharp enough to cut cheese!
Weeeeeee!

I liked the Jango-Boba stuff the best.

But frankly, I thought it a very mediocre movie. In fact, during one scene, which was supposed to be very dramatic, all I could think of was a similar scene in Galaxy Quest("Who ever wrote this episode should die!"). And when Amidala was in the crucible about to have hot metal poured on her, I turned to my husband, visions of Chicken Run dancing in my head and said, "But I don't want to be a pie! ... I don't like gravy."

Yep, that's where I saw it too! Were you able to get a digital showing? I just can't get over how sharp the picture was- maybe it's just me, but often when I go to the movies, all the little blips of garbage on the screen really bug me. This was the first time I've been to the movies when I didn't have to worry about it. Of course, to make up for it, the inept projector guy (it is the Orleans, after all...) had the sound about 1/2 seconds out of synch with the picture, so you'd hear the dialog start before their mouths moved- kinda made it seem like a really bad over-dubed version.

PS Where in Vegas do you live? Do you go to UNLV? Jes' wonderin'...

I saw it on the digital screen here in Olathe, KS. The quality was amazing, but I wasn't too impressed with the movie. Plot was slow and the cuts between scenes gave me a migraine. Special effects were VERY cool. Atleast it was better than episode 1, I was hoping that jar jar suffered a painful slow death due to swimming home with his mouth open between movies...

That's amazing! I also work in the library! What floor/dept. do you work in? I'm up in Special Collections (3rd floor), doing book conservation/repair. We should meet- it's fate, right? Also, I often ride my bike past your husband's shop (I think- it is the one on Maryland Pky, just south of Del Taco and the Goodwill, right?) when I'm heading to Saver's on trop. I should stop in some time- I'm an old comic ner-, err, fan from way back.
What a strange, small world, eh?

I wonder where I can see a digital showing. How do I find these digital theaters. I heard that there are only something like 50 of them in the United States. HOW DO WE KNOW WHERE THEY ARE?

Well. THX.com sez:
There are only 4 theaters in Ohio.
2 in Columbus
1 in Pickerington and
1 in Brooklyn

I don't even know where the latter are!
I doubt I'd ever get to go to Columbus, the state capitol, just too see a movie! My parents would never let me! They'd tell me: SEE IT HERE AT A LOCAL THEATER! DARN!

I thought the movie sucked... Some of the lines were just retarded and didn't belong in the movie, Anakin was a total dork, and the Yoda fight scene was hillarious to me.... The only good part about the movie was Natalie Portman!

There's a very interesting article in Rolling Stones magazine about her.... One of the things it talks about is how she made her dolls have sex when she was little. Then her Barbies... I really dig this chick... smart and stuff... but hornier than myself!!!! muwahahahahahahahaha

Nah.... If they made it up, I'm sure we would've heard something in the news about her and a lawsuit. Anyway, there have been other interesting things about her as well that have made headlines.... A little bit "busty" ones too if you know what I mean.
