Well, hell. I traded ~Coxy for his spare OS 2.0 ROM chip, which arrived today. I just took apart my Newton 120 (took a while to find a tiny-enough screwdriver!) and installed the new chip, but so far it's dead as a doornail. I've tried everything I can think of, but the new chip just doesn't want to work. The Newt fires right back up with the old OS 1.4 chip, so I don't think I damaged anything in the Newt itself. I made sure I was well-grounded before tinkering, too. I'm wondering if I've done something wrong, or what. Please help! SpaceBoy PS If this belongs in "Balloon Help", I'm sorry!AppleBASIC FOREVER! No kidding!Seriously, though, I'm still stumped on this one. I've done my best to get it working, but it's still acting like a brick with the 2.0 ROM (but works fine with the old 1.3 ROM). I just don't know enough about Newt's to know if I did something wrong, or if the ROM chip is shot, or if there's something wrong with my 120 that's keeping it from working. Any ideas would be great! SpaceBoy PS If anyone out there would be willing, I could send you the ROM chip and see if it works in your Newt... lemme know... AppleBASIC FOREVER!
