Hey, I found your site the other day while desperately trying to find laxx's hotline server. That server rocked until i became a little too dependant on my ppc and osx. I'm trying to get my 950 back up and running, among other macs and i've had no luck with the server. It's been a few months since i've been there, did the address change? is it gone? thanks for your help and this place kicks @$$!!

Yeah, RetroMac was the biggest and the best 68k Hotline server out there, and now that they're gone (apparently), we need to beef up our own server with some of the apps and stuff that we really should have available! [;D]

Can someone upload A/UX and the A/UX apps to Da Penguin's server?

Penguin's server is full. It'll stay that way until he upgrades it. He is supposed to upgrade it this week.

I miss retromac68k too. I downloaded a bunch of stuff off there and put it on my HL server. I was uploading a bunch of stuff to 68k.torpedobird.com (Da Penguin's) server. It is now full.
Has Laxx responded to any emails sent? I think his email address is
laxx@mochamail.com please correct me if I am wrong.

I have AUX on the mirror server, but no apps. If anyone wants to upload, the server has 20 gigs of space left on it

I got A/UX on my server, although it won't be there for long. It's in toast format, just like the mirror has. The site is http://www.cs.mtsu.edu/~alex/unix/aux/. Have fun.

hey folks,

tis me, laxx of retromac68k.dyndns.org.

the long story is (and those who know me know that i doan usually fib, at least not too much) :)
- me and a group of friends started a mac shop here in asia (url: http://www.themacday.com/Menu/Roadshow/Events/Wheelock_Apple/wheelock_apple.html) no, that person shown is NOT me.
- I still have my day job
- My wife gave birth to a son. Now it is TWO kids.
- my linksys router died
- my 6400 server kept crashing, without a monitor or keyboard it was gonna be dang hard to diagnose over timbuktu,
- the 40 gb ibm hdd had clunky noise which i think is related to the above problem....

so

the short version is i am taking a break, the data are largely intact. In the mean time, are you guys interested in a chat server ? eg. IRC or Palace Chat. I could host it.... :) while the larger issues get solved.

Glad to hear the data is safe. With all that crashing it sounds like you need a vacation. I am also glad to hear that retromac still may come back!

I have the boot floppy, but I can't get the disk image to load on my desktop to burn the data.... going to repost so as not to have this discussion in the wrong place.
