Somehow it seems that it'd be pretty cool to set an old Mac aside just for number crunching. A friend comes over..

"Hey.. uh.. what's that old computer doing?"
"Oh, that? It's just looking for aliens."

:D

You'll need an internet connection for it though. Atleast one every few months.. you know.. after it finishes its data block. "Please, sir, can I have some more?"

that's what networks are for :-)

Another option is if you run a UNIX or Linux variant on an old Mac, you should be able to use other Setu client softwre
