Ah, 3 screen Hornet, I hardly knew thee...
Far too slow one a 950 to be much fun, and if you want to play it you really need 3 very similar screens in a perfect semicircle.

Ah well, at least The Quest filled up my NuBus slots!

Mmmmm. Imagine a clock-chipped 950 with three Radius PrescionColor 24XK video boards connected to three AppleVision 1710AV displays (to hell with motherboard video!)

I was thinking of clock chipping - does anyone have a good Aussie source for crystals?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh *collapses* It might be even better with an 840av. I guess everything would really be better when you replace whatever computer you're talking about with "Q840av"

There are 3. How many do you want? Just 3 screens, right? What else do you need to hook up? Are you using this machine for all kinds of other stuff too?

For lots of screens just get one of those NuBus card expansion thingos and you're set !

And yes, you only need 3 screens for Hornet, but what about video in and out, more NICs, and general cool cards?

in the original thread over there there's a link to apple tech info on possible timing issues with some of the expansion boxes if they're filled with video cards (i was too tired to actually read it)

i've got a screen shot of my 2300c's LCD, the portrait and a VGA display from when i was testing the ROMless Dock trick for enabling the LCD when docked. i hope that guy posts a 3 x 3 CRT desktop screen shot!

That's a freaking ridiculous setup! 9 monitors! There's no way to even come close to using them in the way he had it all set up. That's insane. If they were all aligned in such a way that you could use them all at once, that would be some kind of crazy accomplishment. I agree with whomever said they should be on a rack

you're right of course, but he stated pretty clearly that that was just a test lashup, it'll be going into a permanent 3x3 display somewhere when it's up and stable.

i wish i could have seen the 6 x 22" diagonal IIfx setup somebody mentioned in the original thread! that'd make some kinda nice crescent shaped monitor array!

i think i'm gonna have to build a bigger desk! when my Radius FPD comes in i don't think i'm going to be able to resist putting it on the side of my new 21 opposite the Macintosh Portrait Display and it's just GOTTA have the 9" SE periscope sitting next to it too!

<rolleyes>

My PM8100 had a 17 inch multisynch, the Protrait Display and a 2 Page monochrome on it once...

the problem is that I'd love to put together a mac II with 4 screens, and have 4 UNIX terminals, all powerd form one system, but I don;t have enough serial ports.
