Well, pretty much what the title says: I'm looking for the rom simm from a Mac IIsi or IIfx for my SE/30 project. If you've got one or know where I can get one, please lemme know! LOL! i wondered how long it would be before you decided to go 32 bit clean on your new toy! i've got a pile of fx's, but the ROM's are on SIMM cards. does the /30 have a slot? if so, and you can't find one to trade for or buy right away, i'll loan you one, but you'll have to keep looking as i'll want it back eventually! (like when i liberate my own /30! ) do clean ROMs eliminate the need for PAL SIMMS on the SE/30? or just the necessity to run the MODE 32 patch? jt ™. .

Hey! Yeah, the /30 has a ROM slot (or at least mine does!), and supposedly the IIfx or IIsi ROMs will not only eliminate the need for Mode32, but also allow the use of System 7.6.1, or even OS 8.1! If you're willing to tra-, err, loan me a ROM simm, please email me at huckdunsany-at-hotmail.com, and I'll give you my shipping address. Thanks! SpaceBoyAppleBASIC FOREVER! Hey noirwest- I just went over to the local Goodwill (place of boundless treasure!), where I found a pretty well beat-up Mac IIsi. Frantically, I cracked open the case, hoping to find the ROM simm, but sadly the slot was empty. Anyway, I did manage to snag a IIsi NuBus adapter with some sort of dual-ethernet card on it... I'll check it out more later on. Anyway, if your IIsi's have the ROM simm (now I'm not sure that they all do/did), I'd be very interested. At the moment, I'm working on a pile of 3 PowerMac 7600/132's that I got at the same surplus sale that my 'new' SE/30 came from. All three 7600's are DOA (they all need power supplies.... hint hint...), but I've recovered a ton of good parts from them. I want enough parts to put together at least one working 7600, but the other two are easy to part out. I've got a bunch of 168-pin DIMMs, CD-ROM drives, floppy drives, video ram, hard drives, etc., so if you're interested in any of that, just lemme know. Also, all the stuff in the older thread I started here in the Trading Post is still up for grabs, so if you want any of that maybe we can work something out...
