Ok, I have a Duo 230 (HD:120, RAM:24, DuoDock w/ onboard Ethernet, Apple Express modem) and have a few questions. Are there any peculiar things to deal with SCSI? Useing SCSI devices has been flaky. I can't get the case to latch anymore after a little accident. I've tried to reposition the latch, but it won't stay closed. Is there a secret Duo owners know about to twist the screen into the right position again? Where can I get that cool control panel that lets me use the 2 trackball buttons differently? That's it for right now I think. Thanks crew! ~Marchie ~~"We are all Mad here."~~ |

Which type of HDI-20 SCSI cable are you using? The Powerbook gray or Platinum colored one? Remember, only plug in SCSI devices to the Duo Dock when there is no computer inserted or the inserted Duo is shut down. It may be a good idea to terminate the drive setup also. quote:

The Duo 230's latch is a bit flakey. I have one, and my latch does close, but just barely. Just handling the casing causes the latch to undo itself. As far as I know, there is no fix for this. quote:

As far as I know there are none. I have searched for a while for the same thing (for my 145, 180, and 230) but there are none out there. Part of the reason is because the circutry in the button assembly is indiscriminatory as to which button is pressed. All it knows is "button is pressed", not "top button pressed" and "bottom button pressed" ------------------ Captain Z - Sniper 68K Macintosh Liberation Army 17 68K Macs Liberated |

It's a Powerbook grey cable... I take it that the SCSI bus acts slightly diffderently than on the desktops?I'll keep working on finding that control panel because I know that is DOES exist, and it used to be in the archives at U of Mich, but was culled out. The 2 buttons are wired seperatly into the ADB bus, and thus can be given different abilities. Sounds like something that'll go in the 68kMLA Software archives ~Marchie ~~"We are all Mad here."~~ |

Do you remember what the name of it was? It would be very helpful. quote:

I've never heard of that, but damn I would kill to get it on my Duo 280! Contextual menus would be hot! Private EL CINE 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Total 68K Macs liberated: 4 "Language is a virus from outer space." - William S. Burroughs
