The fastest with onboard video is the IIvx. The fastest without onboard video is the IIfx. Since your better off with an Apple 24•8 graphics card, you should go with the IIfx.------------------ Captain Z - Sniper 68K Macintosh Liberation Army 17 68K Macs Liberated |

Apparently, though, the IIvx was slower than the IIci or something, it's in another thread in this forum.~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit 68k Macintosh Liberation Army (now with forums!) 00013 Macs liberated. |

The IIfx is the fastes, and has 6 NuBus slots.Mine is an upgraded II->IIfx, so it doesn't have the awesome video card other IIfxes have. Oh well. I like mine anyways. I'm thinking of turning it into a router with 5 ethernet cards, and LocalTalk. ~Marchie ~~"We are all Mad here."~~ |

I have a regular IIfx, but it has a toby card, not the fancy 8•24 unless "Macintosh II display card" means "8•24"What a dissapointment FireWire is fast General, 4 star Forum moderator 68k Macintosh Liberation Army

Any reason why you would do that to the IIfx?

Because I can, of course!Well really it's just my way of pushing it as far as it will go without resorting to a PPC upgrade. Lieutenant EL CINE, 666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Master of the Mac II series forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 4 |

PPC upgrades for 68030 macs are just cheapshots on unsuspecting Quadras. (for the record, your IIfx will never as grand as a 950) Unless you take some more cheap shots with an accelerated video card, fast(er) ethernet, and a FWB Jackhammer...
