I talked my dad into taking me to some thrift stores around town (to look for 68k Macs WHAT ELSE?). I went to Goodwill first, nothing there. So, I then went to The Salvation Army Outlet down the street.
I went to the electronics section, and something caught my eye!
It was an LC II!!! It came with everything.
Microphone, keyboard,RGB Monitor, and mouse.
All for $20!!!

Sweet! Congrats on the nice liberation, esp. at such a good price for the whole lot. I had an LC II for a while- it seemed soooooo sloooooow compared to my sooped-up SE/30 and my Centris 610. Man, how times have changed...
Have fun with it!

This seems like heaven compared to my old LC!
My old LC only had a Monochrome monitor.
This LC II's internal HD is twice as large as that of the LC.

What happened to your SE/30?
My SE is stil running strong, although for some reason its kepboard is malfunctioning.

I felt the same way when I liberated my first LC III (yes, I have more than one). It was a big step from the LC II that I had been using...

I know. At least the LC III is faster than the LC II.
The LC and LC II are the same speed.

LC = 16 MHz 68020
LC II = 16 MHz 68030

The LC II shouldn've been considerably faster...but silly Apple basically took the LC mobo and just smacked an '030 onto it with little modification. A 32 bit processor on a 16 bit bus! Scandalous!

Along with an extra two megs of RAM that is useless if you have bumped the RAM up to ten megs.

Tell me about it! Only 10MB! I was hoping I could replace some of the smaller SIMMs in there and get it up to 12MB! If only I could.
