Just had to have a quick skite... This is my first posting from my new dual 1000 G4. Yee haaaaaaa! This thing is FAST. In comparison the old G4 400 feels like an SE.

I am a happy camper ( at least until the G5 comes out).

Cheers!

Anyone hear about this:

An eBay item appeared on Thursday claiming to be a Macintosh G4 Quicksilver 2002 Server Logic board. This auction has since been pulled at the request of Apple.

The auction included a picture of the motherboard which appeared to have 4 DDR RAM slots as well as a mysterious port - which is presumed to be 1394b (Firewire2).

Xlr8yourmac.com's webmaster, Mike Breeden, had word of the unit, but could provide no details expect hint that it is a sign of things to come.

This Appleinsider forum post provides the seller's response to where the motherboard came from:

This board was sent to a friend of mine and was issued as a test board. I have been notified by Apple and eBay that this board was never intended for sale and the auction was cancelled at Apple's request. I apologize to all that this turned out to be a problem.
To all that were interested, this board runs GREAT. The DDR memory really improves the performance. I hope I am able to offer similar boards in the near future.

I'm insanely jealous bigsadu!

cheers
Flash!

PS. Hub works great. I've got the PowerBook setup as a netrouter, and all the computers seem to be talking to it fine.

Tee hee!

Glad to hear the hub worked out. Now you've just got to fill those other 9 ports!

I'd welcome any tips you have setting up 68k netrouter by the way. I'm having zero luck here. Every time I try it seems to crash my cable connection somehow

Cheers!

PS. Was that SMS from you earlier this evening? If so, Saturday's bad. Another time though.

...actually only 8 ports to go - I've got the PC laptop running through it too [;D] I'm not too sure about the 68k IP Netrouter - I had a quick look coz I wanted to use the 475 as a router but I couldn't work it out, so I used the PPC version instead.

I SMS'd everyone but it looks like there will only be a few of us watching movies tonite. Oh well - more beer for us!

And to get this back on topic..... Dual 1gig G4, I want I want I want I want!

cheers

Hmm...does that kind of stuff just connect via ethernet? I've always been curious...
