I have:
-C610 mobo
-Q610 mobo
-2 Q800 mobos
-Power supply for C610 - probably works with others
-C610 case (think 660av, 610, power mac 61xx)
-LCII
-25 mhz 040
-A few 1.4 meg Disk drives
-Several power supplies from macs and PC's that could be used for a Hackintosh
-About ten 2-device scsi ribbons
-About ten 2-device IDE ribbons
-1 gig 80pin scsi hard drive
-Mac IIsi w/ some 30pin simms in it(clean rom, anyone?)
-A pair of Apple IIGS's
-Performa 6115 sans drives
-Assorted crap. Ask if I have what you need

I need:
-Q840av mobo (working please...)
-SCSI HD (1 gig+ )or a nubus IDE card if one exists (I've never paid much attention to discussion of such things)
-VRAM simms, but only if I get that 840av mobo

TRADING is great, but I can also pay cash (paypal/MO) for the things I need and will gladly accept cash for anything you want to buy

Caught my attention with the above. Mainly the //gs'. Do you have any of the software for them? I'd be willing to pay for some copied system disks, etc. Just need to make sure it's on the old 800k disks fo rthe one up here. Depending on prices, I mgiht be inerested in more. Through me a clue to what you value items at.

Under assorted crap: Any chance you have a tray-loading CDROM bezel for a Q800/PM8100 series tower? I've been trying to find one of these for a while. Thanks!

1) I don't have an IIGS software, sorry. But yes, they're come on 800k disks. The IIGS has no internal drive but has a floppy port like the one on compact macs and some macs II's that uses the same mac drives
2) A IIGS is probably worth about $10. At least one of these has a memory upgrade in it
3) I was thinking about $7.50 for the 040. I might be able to get the one out of the Q610 board if two of you want one, but when you pull those out you have to be pretty careful of the pins. They bend very easily
4) Sorry, I don't have that bezel...I need the same thing for myself! I should add it to my list of needs

Okie dokie - They seem to be ridiculously hard to find for less than $20. You'd think more people would be getting rid of their 8100s

Timco Computers http://www.timco-computers.com/macparts.html has 'em for 5 bucks. Plus a ton of other useful and (fairly) cheap shtuff.

Candypunk, whats your location? What would it cost to send a couple of '040's to Sydney?

Cheers!

my (bigest) little bro is going to sydney in june, he said he'd have room in his bag for a few small care packages in his luggage. so if there are a few small items swapping aus/us that'd be cool. anybody got something to trade or need something from the us? i'd like to swap some stuff, maybe i can do a list this weekend.

Thanks bigsadhu! Finally my little beige friend won't look like a toothless Cyborg! At the moment their site seems to be down, but I'll certainly check into that later!

Well, I'm in the US. It looks like I could send something weighing 9 ounces to Australia for US$8.40 and it would take about a week. For 4-6 weeks, it would be US$4.05. That's an estimate on the weight, but I bet it wouldn't be any more than that.

A note: the 800's have 33 mhz 040's that I could pull if no one wants the boards. I don't think they're ever going to find a home, so I don't think it would be killing a mac. I have a dead 840av whose 40 mhz 040 I could pull, too.

well if you're not gonna try it, i'll take a shot at getting one of the 800's up and running in the 840 case! how much do you want?

I've already got a Q800 that works great! Say, jt, you wouldn't want to trade me that case for something, would you? If not...
I think $10 sounds about right? Plus shipping. How's that?

that'd be great, unless you've got a desire for a IIx or maybe a IIfx, i kinda ended up with a stack of the freakin' things! wonk's got first dibs, if he ever decides to do a swap, but i can probably cobble together something interesting.

You got anything up there thats a whole system?
as in a case, ram, perhapps HD?
Something I can run OS8 on.
(I'd also need a monitor if the one from my LC won't work on it)

1) JT - cash is fine. I'm not big on II's, though the IIfx is a nice machine! I shall email you
2) Scchicago - I've got an LCII and a IIsi, but neither can run OS 8. Let's see, I could put the Q610 or C610 mobo in the 610-style case and give it a CD drive that I've got hanging around, but I don't have the CD bezel for it. I've got floppy drives, though, and a 40 meg HD to get you started. I'm not sure if I have any ram to spare, but I could probably come up with a simm if you really really need one. 4 megs of mobo ram isn't enough, but maybe you've got some ram of your own?

You know, now that I've got this dead 840av board, some of those parts can be scrapped and sold too. Possible items of interest:
1) The 040. 40 mhz with a heat sink that fits perfectly and a little clamp to hold it in place. You can put it in any 040 mac and it will work fine. It will simply run at the original clock speed of the mac. Sorry, C610 users, it won't run twice as fast, but it WILL have an FPU and you can do some clock chipping work with crystal ocilators to get some definite benefit
2) The ROM simm. Someone may have an 840av mobo that's missing this. It needs it to work, if there's a slot for it
3) The 8-bit video card I was using
4) The crystal ocilators? I could unsolder them if anyone wants a specific one. Let's see, there will be one at 20 mhz to govern the processor clock speed, and I think I saw one at 66.6667 mhz. There are probably a few others too. I'll check

Any of that sound appealing to anyone? The 040 and video card are actually useful...
Remember, I still need a working 840av mobo for myself! If you've got one you don't want, please let me have it!

Well, that unsoldering didn't work out. Scratch that. Silly idea anyway. JT, where are you? Check your mail, buddy! So, who's still interested in those 040's?

hiya! yup, just figured out the $$$$ last night! i had posted the reason for the delay in a response to you in another thread. i'd also expressed an interest in the 40Mhz '040, but i'm not sure if my inquiry was the first one. i'm in 10463 for shipping purposes, just lemme know how much. email is fine and i promise to answer more promptly! i figured you're trying to get $$$ together for your hamfest expedition!

mea culpa!

sorry,

Come on, people, you know you want this stuff! Everything is still up for trading except:

1) One of the Q800 mobos
2) The 40 mhz 040
3) The 25 mhz 040 (I think. Where are you cinemafia??)

Hey, sorry, I got your last email, just didn't have a chance to respond, yet. I'm kinda out of money right now, so I can only do trades for that 25Mhz '040. Did I already let you know what i had to offer?

Yeah, none of it sounded too enticing. I could wait until you can come up with the cash, I suppose, unless you have anything else that you didn't mention. Trades are still OK if you've got anything cool.
