I need a usb audio input thing for my ibook........the only one i know of is griffen imic...however its $45 bucks!! or like 30 on ebay!!!! anyone selling one, or somethign that will get the job done for cheaper????thanks

I have a mic that came off of a B&W G3. Not USB, though. Would this work?

No: the newer iMacs, PowerMacs, etc. have no audio in ports. Thus, you need a USB breakout box.
