What a pleasant surprise I just had!D/Ling the Lightwave 7.5 update from versiontracker... tum-te-tum... exploder finally crashes after 20 minutes, 12.5 meg into the D/L. Ack! So I crank up that fine Australian made FTP client, Interarchy... BLOODY HELL! Sucks the whole 40 meg file down in under a minute!
I'm forced to assume this is an example of M$ intentionally crippling their Mac S/W so as to make macs look slower/less fully featured etc. We're talking a factor of 50x more efficient bandwidth use by Interarchy. Go you Aussies! putting the kick-ass into Broadband.
