I'd like to report another sighting of feets, which I have been seeing quite regularly for a while. I refer to none other than my PowerBook 145B. On the side are two little feets which can be flipped down to adjust the keyboard angle. Of course, i always have the feets down on mine, so that it can reveal its true beauty. All other members of the PB1xx family, from the PowerBook 100 to the 190 also feature feets, although the most common type are those used on the 140-180c series models. I think the Duos might also have flip downs, but i've forgotten...its been too long since the last time i saw a Duo.Just a thought... -------------------------- Pizzabox LCs RULE!!!!!!! So is a Quadra 700 supposed to have feets or not?I've seen a couple of images on the web which look as if they may have some... but mine just has some suspicious looking mounting holes in the case. Detachable feets? If so, my 700 just earned himself a new name... Long John Silver! Cheers! i scored a Centris 610 for $1 on eBay this afternoon! it's likely to cost more than 10 times that for shipping! probably a deader, but i grabbed a 610 DOS compatability card today for $10 anyway!but then again . . . . a Centris is probably a weenie indicator anyway. *sighs* jt ™. .

Eeee nothing wrong with a centris! and C610 is just a... slower Quadra! With no FPU! and maybe no Ethernet! ok it does sound a bit dud. but hey $1 is $1 :D dana -- http://www.danamania.com/ hosted on 68k - LC630/40 -- |

the morons in cupertino can't seem to figure out what a usable configuration would be!isn't it interesting that, even after apple finally moved past the gigahertz barrier on the new crap, it's still more fun to tweak the oldies into doing more than apple ever really wanted them to be able to do, performancewise! i really HATE the way they hobbled so many of the models they produced! wtf kinda business plan was that? did they WANT to keep under a 5% market penetration? jt ™. .

Trash, last Friday I attended an Apple open house at SelectMac here in Indy. I came away scratching my head after playing with the G4 Imac for a half hour. The one I had only came with 128 meg and seemed slow with OS X. The screen mechanism was neat and solid, more than I thought it would be. It weighs 22 lbs so there is enough heft there to keep it from falling over at all angles. But the expandability is almost nil, especially when it comes to ram, there is only one dimm slot available and it uses a different type of memory configuration than the first bank...odd. Everything else of course is daisy chained off with firewire or usb. The price point is about $400 too high for a middle range G4. I would have gone to at least a 17 inch LCD instead of a 15 inch. Also even on the top model it only goes to a 60 gig hard drive, for that kind of money why not a 120 gig to stay current. It is needed for editing if you really want to use the iDVD software package with the superdrive. If you are looking for a G4 get a tower system. I saw a TiBook too, darn thing is wide, but neat. I look for Apple to sell the Emac to the public, I have a feeling the G4 Imac in it's present form are numbered.

The secpnd bank of RAM is simple and user accessible, it has to be parallel to the mobo and thus must be a SODIMM. Simple!~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit 00014 Macs liberated |

I just think there should be at least two banks of memory open to upgrade, Coxy. I don't like the idea of tossing aside memory when I want to upgrade.
