Hot-swap and sharable MultiBay devices and optional snap-on legacy module
actually, it looks like they've got still got a LOT more expansion capability in that little thing than any comparable Mac ever will!i've been waiting for a viable Cubelike Mac with a LOT of Powerbook removable device expandability/flexibility. looks like apple's not nearly as innovative as i'd hoped! idiots!

As both MultiPort and MultiBay modules are utilized with Compaq Evo notebooks, customers deploying both the new Evo D500 Ultra-slim Desktop and Evo notebooks can realize additional cost savings through shared modules, and simplified IT management with fewer pieces of equipment. The Evo D500 is available in a legacy-free configuration, but an optional snap-on legacy module (with serial, parallel and PS/2 ports)can be added.

I have a funny story....Yesterday I went into a thrift shop looking for 68k's, and I came across what i thought was an old baby ATX case 486, laying on it's side. It was really rounded and cute, and I thought, "Gee, that's a pretty cool looking old PC case! I should buy it and hack something into it!" But then I realized it wasn't a baby ATX case at all...it was a bread maker. 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear! |

I'd like to try to make a hack, but I don't want to risk any of my precious hardware, 68k or otherwise.

Sure it'll save you space, but how can you upgrade it? Or do you intend to upgrade it?

The quite possibly more broke than Cinemafia (right now) Kady sez: www.sleekline.com Notice the model they show racked into the entertainment center. (Sleekline 1000)
And I think this is going to be my next new PC (a few years down the road): http://www.shuttleonline.com/sv24.htm And it's got every single freaking port The Cube did, plus several it didn't, built in graphics (ho-hum for gaming, but perfectly okay for office and websurfing), built in sound (ho hum, but easily fixed by putting a good soundcard in the PCI slot), and it's under $350. I have some friends who are really into gaming -- lan parties and all that. They say these little guys make really nice servers. And, if nothing else, that brushed aluminum case is really really keen looking. 68K's liberated: 0 68Ks adopted to loving homes: 2 PowerMacs adopted: 1 |
