I just bought up a StyleWriter for $20 from a girl here on campus. I know I paid too much, I just didn't want her to feel cheated. Anyways, I plugged it in and no power. She said it worked when they last tried it, but it won't work for me. I've tried jiggling the power cable around while pushing the power button to see if that might work. Are there any other tricks to try? I'm going over Apple's service manual PDF at the moment.
It's a StyleWriter. Says 1990 and Model No: M8000 on the bottom.

i once got a stylewriter like that. Turns out it was completely dead. Sorry to tell you this, but its new printer time i'm afraid, unless you can get a new power adapter or power/interface board thingo

Yeah, thats what I'm thinking. I took the dang thing apart and checked the fuse. We also put the power cord to a volt meter. For some reason it showed 13v when it says 9.5v on the back. Apparently, verified by the lick test, there is a capacitor in it. I don't know what else to do, so I'm going to return it.
