You don't see these around very often, so I figured I'd point it out for those of you who might have a hack in mind! 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear! |

Just the thing to use to get a Cuecat working with a Mac. At least he is not asking 90$ for it.AnubisTTP 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Macs Liberated:15 |

I was told that the older Cuecats used PS/2 and the newer ones used USB. If there was ever a Mac serial version of them I never heard about it.AnubisTTP 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Macs Liberated:15 |

neither have i, it was a hack to get it to work on the Mac as i recall, i've never seen or heard of a USB version other than mentions on this board, btw. has anybody got one and are there drivers available? for a PowerMac a PS/2-USB adapter should work if that's the ccat that's available!PS/2 is a keyboard/mouse implementation of a serial connection as is the XT/AT, ADB, USB or even the 128-Plus keyboard interfaces. that's why the converters are so simple. ADB is proprietary, so apple has a say in its use, (gets a cut too i bet!) no such problem exist with the serial ports. i don't recall the ccat research i did back when i first heard about the PC hacks very well at all, but serial on Mac rings a little bell somewhere! jt ™. . p.s. peripheral hunting is kinda like detective work, instead of following the money, you gotta find the drivers! nail those down and the hardware falls into place, the other way around is a crapshoot!
