Today I received an Apple MultiScan 14" display. I hooked it up to Power, and it started up without any problems. I fired up the Monitors (or whatever 'tis called) control panel. I noticed that it had an option for 1024x768 @ 70 Hz, so I tried to set it to that. The monitor went black. Everything else works, it's just that the monitor is not displaying anything. Is there a keyboard shortcut with which you can set the resolution? We had to connect the display to the Centris, and then back again. Now it displays fine, but I want higher resolution than 640x480. Please help!Also notice that this is the Lounge.  Sorry about the double post, but I don't seem to be able to delete the unnecessary one. Its maclover5 here, hiding...Are you sure its a Multiple Scan 14", and not a Multiple Scan 15"? The reason i'm asking, is because if its a Multiple Scan 14", then it will only support 640x480, and 800x600. If its a Multiple Scan 15", then it will support 1024x768. Will it even support anything other than 640x480? Because if it can't, then you don't have a Multiple Scan display. But whether you have a 14" or 15", then 800x600 is probably your safest bet. P.S: Can anyone confirm that a C650 support a refresh rate of 70Hz? --

Hmmm...I have a Multiple Scan 14 too, but connected to a Power Mac 6500/275...In Mac OS 8.5, it supports 640x480, 800x600, and 832x624...I do believe it has the same options when connected to my Quadra 650(and maclover5, I also have a Multiple Scan 15...in Mac OS 8.1 on the 650, it can do 640x480 and 832x624. There is an option for 512x384, but the monitor goes all funky then clicks back to my previous res. I don't have an option for 1024x768) raWr, how much video RAM do you have in your Centris? --------------------

if mean it's still blank and you can't see anything onscreen at all to change it back so it works again. to get the default display setting back you need to reset the parameter RAM by rebooting with: cmd-option-p-r held down. (i got bit by that one myself once back in the day! jt  ™. .
