Hey, I just thought I'd post this link for an interesting eBay auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2017248237

It's for one of the early Mac portable machines (non-Apple brand). Talk about rare- I've been looking for one of these (or an Outbound) for years! This one has 5 days left, and it's already more then I can afford <sob> .
Anyway, check it out. At the very least, it might count as the first BlackMac (ala the MacTV)!

In future: reporting an auction is best put in the Lounge, or a particular item forum e.g. Peripherals.

Man, I used to have a whole collection of early MacWorld mags- like, the first 6 or 7 years worth. The librarian at my grade school gave them to me, as I was the only kid in town who gave a rats ass about Apple. I remember several that had write-ups on these early Mac-compatable machines, like this one and the Outbound systems, as well as a bunch that I've forgotten about. Man, I wish I still had those mags... I had the one with the Mac IIfx on the cover, with a picture of a fighter pilot on the screen, and the headline, "Wicked Fast!". Those mags were cool.

The library here at uni has just about every single copy of MacWorld, Aus MacWorld, MacUser and of course Aus MacUser... The only problem is searching through all of them is too slow for a good reference!

Fact of the day: the Mac IIx reatailed for over AUS $15,000 in 1989!
