OK, the FAQ said to drop by and introduce myself, so here goes: I'm the sysadmin for a mixed-platform LAN in higher ed, I've been collecting old Macs for a couple years now. I've been hanging out on the Low End Mac maillists and figured I'd broaden my approach. So far, I have:

Mac Plus (2 of these somehow, both free from the landfill)
Mac SE
Mac SE FDHD (two of these, too)
Mac SE/30 (still in daily use)
Mac IIci (two of these)
Mac iisi (two of these, altho I know they are despised for some odd reason)
Performa 475
Performa 550
Color Classic, with carrying case

Plus a host of external floppy drives, CD drives, HDs and even an old 40SC tape backup - all rescued from the landfill, flea markets, yard sales and the campus surplus store.

Plus I have a bunch of PowerMac machines because I can't pass any Apple product at the flea market without making an offer.

See you around,

Strayhorn

Hey there!
Looks like you've got a great collection going there- I'd do nearly anything to have my two ColorClassic's back... <sob>
I'm new around here too, but let me be the first to say "Welcome!".

Welcome, comrade! I'm glad somebody visits the site every once in a while...Yes, I know it's a bit on the shotty side...a whole host of updates will come in the near future...

The IIsi isn't hated 'round here! It's the Performa 600/IIvx which should be set aflame and have their ashes urinated upon...

But anyways ...welcome aboard!

Yeah, i know. The IIvxes really did suck, hardware wise, but still, as they're still 68k Macintoshes, i think they should be loved all the same, and when the chance comes, liberated.

Anyone agree?

P.S: The IIsi is not hated around here. As a matter of fact, i believe in the following equation:

IIsi = PLAY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When i lived in Miami I knew a guy who was from Hungary. Hey, do they still have that big race there with the 16-wheelers? I can't remember the name of it...

Welcome, new mellon!

The IIsi is a strange beast. Myself, I'm partial to a Mac with feets!

*bows grandiously, trips on his cape, falls onto the Thread Thrower 68000, and launches himself to the Newton forum*

Oh no, not Aagggggaaaaaaiiiiiinnnnn!!!!!!
