What model performa do you have? 2xx 4xx? 5xx? 6xx?

It may be 68k-compatible, but it's unstable as hell. Frequent crashes/lock ups on my Quadra 650 (72mb RAM/1.1.gb Fireball/Mac OS 8.1)... If you have a Performa 63x series, i'd reccomend some 3.x version...I think the hotline server retromac.dyndns.org retro/retro has a larger selection of AIM 68k...but then again, I may be wrong -------------------- keeper of the website and beholder of the Quadra/Centris Stick of Justice™ -------------------- |

I use version 1.5N (the one bundled with the 68k Netscape 4.08) both at home and here at work under Basilisk II. The funny thing is, AIM under Win98 won't connect, but AIM under Basilisk II (on the same machine, ethernet hub and IP address) will! 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear! |

IF you are looking just for speed not all the dumb features you might try AIMM, its fast, really fast, but I am not sure if there is a 68k version.Jeremy "I'll see you on the Dark Side Of The Moon" - Pink Floyd Covert Ops 68k Hacks General Macs Liberated:17 ENTER THROUGH THE GATES |

oh? if that's how you feel, then why is this kept on the links page? quote: the most recent 68k-compatible versions of ICQ (1.7.2) and AOL Instant Messenger (4.0.972)
p.s. it runs just fine on my performa 636 (52mb, 3gb, os 8/8.1)

Because that might not be the case for everybody's setups...and just because...
