How do you (IF you do) study?

I have found that studying is next to useless to me. It is either I know it or I don't.

I have tried to study, but more than likely, if I don't know it before I start, I won't remember now before I need it on a test.

it's been a looong time, but I used to buy a cheap steno pad and take about 30 minutes before an exam to paraphrase my notes. worked for me

Heck, in year 12 lit I paraphrased the same essay at least 8 times over the year. I remember it well: Blake's poetry, and I always did London, Preface (Milton) and Holy Thursday (Innocence.)

It's been a few years, but ...

1) Never study in total silence. Always have some sort of low level background noise, because you need to learn to tune out noise. If you need it 100% silent to study you will rue your mistake during the test.

2) About 2 weeks before midterms and finals I would re-write my notes.

3) Before a test, re-read all notes.

Make sure you can do examples without the need of notes... in college/uni you'll thank me if you train youself to do work now.
