The NuBus city is here!

It does, however, require submission from the general populace...

And also, the saga of my 540c:

Heh, your Powerbook saga reminds me of the time I tried to use a regular screwdriver on my DuoDock. I nearly grinded the screws on the PSU out of existence.

hey guys, if someone such as FireWire is ok with it, would it be possible for the Official Site of The Hackintosh to be hosted on the 68kMLA website along with all the other neat setups, such as cinemafia's 840AV, and Ti's Digital Hub? Would be neat.

Hey guys-
I know I'm a lowly newbie around here, but I think I've got some stuff to contribute... I've got several interesting NuBus cards to add to the NuBus museum, like my Toby Framebuffer (looks different then the one posted), my VideoSpigot card, my super-powerful but sadly driver-less RasterOps SuperColorBoard364 (yeah, that's actually what it's called!), and a few other notables.
Lemme know if you're interested...

Thanks for reading through all this!

Sure, scan you'r boards, do a short write-up and I'll add it to the page!
Have you tried my RasterOps drivers? They appear to be generic drivers for Accelerated video cards.

Hey-
I'll scan them at some point in the (hopefully!) near future here at school- nice scanners, even if they are on PC's...
As to the drivers, I'll have to give them a try! They look like they just might work. When I first got the ColorBoard, I spent a good while searching around for the drivers (the board has what appear to be some very cool featurs that can't be used without the drivers, like S-Video in-and-out, composite in-and-out, etc.). For a while, the old RasterOps page (I think it's gone now) had the drivers, but they were selling them for over $200! I'd heard rumors of a hotline server that had them, but I never found it. I'd love to get the card running in my Quadra 950 with a nice big screen... or better yet, when I finally find an 840av... drooolll...

Thanks again,
SpaceBoy

I can run 4 (!) monitors off my Quadra 950, but:
A) There's only three external monitors in the house
B) One is a PC monitor that I have to use with the VGA adaptor
C) One card only does portrait, and one only does 4 bit.
D) There is no D.

For a short while, I had four 14-inchers running on my PowerMac 7100, but I quickly went back to 'just' three- four took up waaay too much desk space, put out too much heat, and sucked too much juice. Still, even with the super-high resolution on my PowerBook G4, I still really miss having three screens... I'd usually have GreyAmp on the right screen pumping out the tunes, Netscape on the center screen, and hotline or napster on the left. Man, a guy can get used to that...
Plus, I really got a kick out of using that aformentioned Toby Framebuffer (hey, that'd be a great name for a band!) in my G3/266 upgraded 7100. It just seemed so cool (and very 'macish') to be able to use the first NuBus video card (if not the first NuBus card at all) in the last Mac to take NuBus cards, at speeds waaaay faster then the designers of the Toby or the Mac II ever imagined! Call me crazy, but that seemed cool.
Also, once, just for kicks, I used the VideoSpigot card in my Quadra 950, and managed to get it working somehow, and ran my PlayStation to the video-in port on the VS, and taa-daaa! PSX on a 68k-series Mac! Who needs VGS?

That's nothing new

I was saying what would be cool is a VideoSpigot + an original Nintendo (or any other console for that matter). Since 68ks aren't great console emulators...

Heck, nothing is really a good console emulator: the only GBA emulator I've run into so far requires 500 MHz of G4 muscle! (That's more than some N64 emulators... )
