i love it, just needs a 'peg of an interchangeable lens newvicon tube RCA VidCam/Portable VCR combo (like mine!) from that era and it will be an awesome graphic to hang over your hub!

are you putting an internal burner in your hub?

I'm debating which 68k system to turn into my Digital Hub.. I could use my Duo230 since it has a dock as well, but useing a full 68040 chip might be preferable, at least when it comes to burning CDs and such. I lean towords the Duo, since it allows my Digital Hub to be partially mobile.

Hmm.. My 68k Duo digital hub consists of...

QuickTake 150 (100 Plus)
Newton 2100 (W/ MP3 player!)
External 4x SCSI CD Burner
External 24x SCSI CDROM
Composite and SVideo input/output

the problem i see with that is the lack of stereo sound. we were discussing that on limitation on fritter. is there stereo sound on any of the docks available? it doesn't appear that the second channel is available on the docking interface connector so it might need to be interfaced at the PDS signal level.

You really shouldn't have a photo of a DV camera in your picture... I suppose you could export to RCA and into you 68k, tho...

Testing, try it this way, Ti!

the dumb thing is case sensitive!

oh well, i didn't guess right! if you're trying to link to pictures try variations that look like mine. pics need to be in the .Pictures folder to link to them seperately. cinemo helped me to figure it out, but he forgot to mention the case sensitivity!

Heh...my 68k Digital Hub consists of:

LC630
Internal tray loading 4x AppleCD 600i CD ROM
6 gig HD
Syncs to my PowerBook 145B for my PDA, over a good ol' LocalTalk network
Panasonic VCR for watching TV and capturing video and saving it in QuickTime format...still trying to get a decent framerate
Remote control from a Sony HiFi for controlling audio CDs and adjusting the system volume

Soon to come:
Some sort of cassete recorder so that i can record MP3s to tape, and use my Walkman as my portable music device!

For a long time I was using a 1970s era Sony camera that I bought at Hamvention for 5 bucks as a survallence camera. It predated LCD's and had a little CRT in the back for the viewfinder and records on reel to reel tape. It came with service manuals so I was able to reverse engineer the pinouts for the interface slot and hook up a modren RF modulator from a busted VCR up to it, then I could hook the other end into the back of my beige G3 and watch it in a little window on the monitor. The best moment was when I ran into some of the PC using people who had been with me when I bought it (who said I would never be able to get it to work with anything halfway modren) about a week later and was able to show them it working on a(at the time) brand new Mac.

WOW! very cool, Anubis! i'm really impressed, that makes my two camera remote videocheck/control setup look lame in comparison! good going! i hope you rubbed it in a little with your PC impaired buddies!
