I don't have a newly liberated Mac to report to you, but I think that I have something even better... :)

A friend of mine in rez had recently been having many driver problems and other assorted difficulties with her PC (a Wintel box running WinME... Win me? No thanks! ), and she was getting fed up with it, and so I half-jokingly suggested she say "screw it all" and get a Mac...

Then she comes knocking at my door a couple days ago... and tells me that she actually took my advice, and is now the proud owner of a brand new iBook! Score one for the MacAddicts!

I promise that I'll start liberating more Macs once I start getting more money this summer. Until then, though, I intend to convert as many slaves of Windoze to The True Way as I can.

Penguin, I don't think she's the kind we could recruit into our ranks. She's not really a computer person... though she is definitely starting to see the benefits of a Mac.

And I must confess that this isn't entirely my doing. Her don in residence also owns an iBook, and he mentioned today that he thinks he was ultimately the one who convinced her to get one. But on the other hand, I still have an important role in all this: I live down the hall from her, so I'll be helping her learn about all the cool stuff she can do with her new Mac!

Well, for you it is. I have completely tastes when it comes to women. I like the kind without the wo.

And to answer both your questions:

Classic or OS X?

OS X all the way! (Though she needs more RAM... she only has the base 128. She may do the upgrade this summer, depending on finances.)

OK, Trash80, don't get any ideas there... keep in mind that I do have a girlfriend...

*closes his eyes and smiles warmly... then his smile becomes a mischievous grin*

(But, of course, I won't let that stop me from appreciating the beauty of the female form, wherever else it may be found...)
