I'm thinking about buying a Newton 2100, and I would like to know if there is any way I can view PDF files on the Newton. Does Adobe or some third party developer have any Acrobat reader software out?

If you convert the PDF into text, you can convert the text into a Newton book with the free software Paperback.

I think this settles it-I want a Newton. I have most of Douglas Adams's books on my ibook as Textedit files, converting them to Newton Ebooks would be awesome.
BTW, how can I convert PDF files into text?

Even if there was a way to directly view the PDF so that you could see the pictures it probably wouldn't be worth it. The images in the PDF probably wouldn't look too great on the Newton's greyscale screen.

Convert the PDFs to HTML files (Acrobat can do this and there are other apps that will as well) and then you can turn them into NewtonBooks by useing NewtScape.

Go to www.thisoldnewt.com and read the Newton FAQ. It gives the same answer I gave above, but there's lots of other cool info as well.
