The other day, I stopped into a thrift store near the CompUSA where I used to work, and while I was browsing, I spotted a slightly beat-up PowerMac G3, which they were asking $20 for. I was sorely tempted, but I was also sorely broke, so I had to pass.
Happily, my paycheck from yesterday was a little more than I was expecting, so today after work I stopped back into the thrift store, and the old G3 was still there! Even better, it was marked with a pink price-sticker, and when I got to the checkout, they pointed out that everything with a pink tag was 50% off today!
I haven't fired her up yet, but she looks pretty plain-vanilla. No RAM in the slots, but it looks like there's a Zip drive, CD drive and floppy, and about 8.5 pounds of dust-bunnies inside. I'm going to have to break out a new can of compressed air before I test this system...
