Y1 on Classic Board

bibilit

68030
yesterday i collected a complete Classic and a Stylewriter II printer for 30 €.

Unfortunately, the battery was one of those Red maxell ones, and the logic board is not in great shape.

One of the component is bad, is the one with a Y1 label near the battery and RTC chip.

Can somebody let me know if there is a replacement available and the purpose of that part.

Found the information, looks like an oscillator, probably for the RTC.

Can the board work without ?

Cleaning the board right now, will try without and will see if the board can be saved... or will have a look at my spares to find a suitable item.

Well, worst comes to worst, snip off the components he needs and shove them in the mail, it shouldn't cost anything.

32.768Khz. It may not run without it. If its got that EGRET chip, it wont. it manages the system reset, and well, it wont come out of reset. nevermind not having clock, and ADB.

And will do nothing with these Classic parts, so better give it to someone who will get the use for it.
