Wireless for G4

What would I need to look for to get wireless running on the G4 733MHz Digital Audio? There appears to be a connector on the motherboard, and an aerial wire connector as well.

You need the original Airport card

If you are using tiger, there's a little USB dongle (TrendNet TEW-424UB) That worked pretty good for me. Doesn't have OS9 drivers, but I thought I might just throw that out there. Has native support in MintPPC too if you were interested in an alternate OS.

The original Airport card will probably only give you WEP, and basic 64bit under 9.x at that.
It's just a matter of OS, i have got a G4 running 10.4, and WPA is not a problem with the Airport Card.

Will WPA2 work at all with the original AirPort Card? On my Cube and 2002 eMac they know what WPA2 is, but when I try to connect to my network via the AirPort Card, it says it cannot connect to it.

With the G4 DA if you want an external USB adapter, make sure you have either a USB 2 card in, or you get a USB 1.1 compatible wireless adapter. I tried an N USB Wi-Fi adapter from ASUS on the eMac running 10.4.11 (needed min. 10.3.9), but said nothing about needing a USB 2.0 port, and it didn't work properly.

I'm having the same problem with my G3 Lombard. None of my wireless cards are WPA compatible, with the exception of my DLink DWL-G122 (however, the drivers for that card are Windows-compatible only).
