Will this craigslist Dual 1.25GHz MDD run 9.2.2 . . .

. . . the screen pic says it's product identifier is PowerMac 3.6?

Boot ROM version looks like 4.5.7f1

I'm not sure where the cutoff was for running native 9, lately, the scuttlebut around here sounds like this one might boot 9 and it's a good deal.

I've got the QS'02 Dual 1 GHz, but this one probably has some system spec changes that'll make it faster overall as compared to just what the .25 GHz clock rate upgrade on the procs.

Should it work fine off the shelf? Will I have to trick it into installing/running 9, if it will at all in native boot mode like my QS'02? :?:

The quick and easy way is:

FW 400 = OS 9 is :)

FW 800 = OS 9 is xx(

Longer:

The MDD came in three revisions:

2002(FW 400):

G4/867 MHz dual,

G4/1.0 GHz dual,

G4/1.25 GHz dual

NO OS 9 January 2003(FW 800):

G4/1.0 GHz single,

G4/1.25 GHz dual,

G4/1.42 GHz dual

June 2003(FW 400):

G4/1.25GHz single

G4/1.25GHz dual

I don't know the identifier numbers, so based on speed it could be any in italics. If it is a single, it is an '03 MDD(FW400) and will boot 9 fine. If it is a dual, you'll need to see if it is FW 400 or 800.

Thanks, it was a FW800, but he's got some others for sale, so we'll see.

Another DA to resurrect my trusty 466 would be AWESOME!
