I think you are over reacting just a bit. that heat is probably nothing to get excited over.

I bought this to store screws
There are 28 compartments for less than 10 bucks.
I also bought 120GB Kingston m-SATA SSD https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CG8GTPO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But in any case, I haven't swapped it out yet. I followed iFixit instruction up to step 21st (link: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iBook+G4+12-Inch+1.33+GHz+Hard+Drive+Replacement/703)
I have concern that remove those adhesive cable. Is it really necessary for swapping hard drive?

Looks like you should be okay not removing that cable. The guides are usually a bit more intense than they need to be as they are usually taken from a full tear down guide.
I don't see any impediment as to why that DC Jack connector has to be remove as far as replacing the Hard Drive is concerned.
