what's an acceptable price for the 575?

Not really. I'd look around and see if you can view completed auctions on eBay, but it really depends on who and what are on the market at the time.
I try to think of things in terms of how much I want them or what value I'll get out of it and what my budget is, plus condition, specs, etc.
It's a pretty personal decision anyway. What might be worth a few hundred to me because I really want one might not be worth much to you, if you already have one or if you just don't like that kind of system, etc.

I have bought quite a few of these the past couple years and it just all depends on the machine. Yellowing broken plastics what accessories are included etc. there isn't a way to just throw out a catch all number and say that's what it's worth.
Well, its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That's the way I look at it.
but the problem recently is with everyone jacking up the prices after all these reality/antique shows, death of jobs, etc.. it makes it really difficult to find things what I think they are REALLY worth.

I picked up my Performa/LC 575 at the dayton hamvention for I think $15 dollars but I cant remember. this was in 2009 or so back when these machines were still super cheap.

I sold mine for $260, I saw another sell for $275, and one recently popped up, non-working, and eventually sold for $65 (all in Australia in AUD, BTW).
I bought the non working one. Would have been fine but it shipped with bugger all packaging so the box was full of plastic shards. Amazingly pulling the RAM got it to boot, but the CRT was sputtering quite a bit and there's a bit of corrosion on the AB, looking to recap it but not sure it's worth the effort.
A member here bought a monitor from me, and I think I did a good job packing. Of course, being spindler... You know how it turned out..

575 was my first mac. I have been trying to find one in good condition for many years now. I'm super afeard of shipping them but I would be willing to drive far like 500+ miles far to pick one up.
I managed to save a 578 in really bad condition a while back. It works fine but it's beat to hell. I figure its a good case for one of the classic transplants.

When I was in high school back in 2004/5 I bought one of these on eBay for 16 dollars, free shipping. The following year my mom told me I didn't need so many computers in my room and said I should sell it. Today I am really kicking myself hard for not resisting that move. It went to a church garage sale... I remember asking about it, apparently noone bought it and the people running the garage sale sent it to a recycling center or something. Argh.
