What kind of AC adapters will a powerbook 3400 will take ?

The easiest to find is also going to be the cheapest in this case, which is the charger that originally came with the clamshell iBook G3s. It works on those, the PowerBook G3s, the 3400, and the 1400.

If you're looking at that model make sure you get one with the larger tip:
