What I've received as of late...

Grabbed one of the M1212 monitors today. Picking up the other after the new year, and meeting up with a buddy of mine to grab the rest of the stuff on the 7th.

Picked up the second M1212 today. Decided to give my buddy the other M1212, since it was in better cosmetic condition than the one I kept. Need to clean the front bezel, the brightness and contrast adjustment wheels, and remove some foam mounting tape from the upper corner of the monitor.

Picking up a 7100/66 for $75. Looks like it may've been purchased as an upgrade kit machine by the original owner, since it has a Sony CDU-561-25 CD-ROM drive with the caddy bezel. I may modify the machine's floppy drive slot a little, since it seems that the MP-F75W will actually work ok in a 7100 with the stock front panel, as evidenced by the 7100 depicted in @agg24's pile of machines in Ohio thread from early 2022.

Picked up the 7100/66. Needed a lot of work, due to a Centris 650 with a bombed Maxell being stored atop it. Saved what was/is good. Got a 7100/80 coming to replace it.

Yeah, it’s nice.

I used to to have a Centris 650 which had the Apple version of this card in it. I parted ways with that machine some years ago and have missed it. When I saw this for sale, along with a IIvx, I snatched it up. This new card is actually a bit faster, too.

^Nice.

Anyhoo, 7100/80 has been completed, except for that one jumper I need to pull from the CD-ROM drive, and the need for the correct power harness with the pigtail for the cooling fan that goes above the processor. Pic is in the "What Did You Do To Your Apple/Mac Today?" thread.

Mac OS 8.1 CD to replace the one that's MIA. Also have a Quadra 650 logic board coming from Canada that has internal SCSI issues. Between that board and the one currently in my 650, should be able to have one good working board for said Mac.

A regular GS-RAM card for the IIgs... Also picked up a mid-2012 A1286 MBP to replace my late 2011 machine. 2.7 GHz i7 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB drive. Like my late 2011 machine, it has the WSXGA anti-glare display. I will max out the RAM on it, install a 2TB drive, then split it up into three equal partitions. One for Mavericks, one for High Sierra, then one for the Catalina install that's on the drive currently installed. Said machine should arrive in a couple days or so. Coming from the uptekk seller in Auburn, WA.

Those Mid-2012 MBPs are really are excellent workhorses. I'd still be using mine (an MD101LL/A bought new in 2016), but it has become too slow for most internet related things.

So in 2023, I upgraded to a 2013 rMBP, and it runs all the same stuff, but just enough faster to be worth while (I got it for about $200, which seemed like an OK deal at the time).

I'm tempted to get an M1 MBA because they're getting pretty cheap right now (who knows how long they'll remain supported, given Apple's notoriously frugal and stingy approach to supporting older hardware), but I can wait awhile because this rMBP is still good enough (I installed Sequoia via OCLP, and while it runs a bit slower and hotter, it still feels faster than my old 2012 once up and running).

Laserwriter IIf. Needs a paper tray, but otherwise seems to be functional. Probably will upgrade the controller board to the g version, so it can be used on our ethernet network, instead of doing localtalk.

Picked it up today. Was able to get a paper tray for it. Seems like it's in working condition, so I should be able to connect it to one of my older Macs (in other words, everything except the MBP) and use it.

Another A9M0331 ADB mouse, and a non-Apple item, a replacement HP 48SX calculator for the one that was stolen out of my backpack at the Bellevue Community College cafeteria in early 1995.

The aforementioned calculator on the right, with the HP 48GX that I replaced the stolen 48SX with in early 1995.

I also picked up a couple Farallon EtherMac 10baseT AAUI dongles. One for the LaserWriter IIg (wound up picking up a IIg board, and a LaserWriter IINT that smelled less moldy than the IIf depicted above did), and one for my Quadra 650 to use with it when that computer returns.
