What I've received as of late...

When I originally got my iPhone 4 from Verizon, it also replaced an Alias 2. I got the 32GB IPhone for really $200, because I still had my $50 New Every 2 upgrade and I sold the Alias for $50. Sold the iPhone for $220 to buy the iPhone 5. Anyways, great finds!

If I still had it I would still be rocking my 3GS.

Far superior to the 4 (in terms of subjectives like aesthetics, etc) imo, but sadly the 4 is what I have now.

Cool. Big improvement over the Samsung, right?

Keep your eyes peeled on CL. Maybe one will pop up.

Got most stuff transferred over from the Digital Audio to the MDD. Wow, sucker's loud. Sounds like a shop vac when all the fans get going. Transferred things over, due to the Digital Audio having some intermittent sound loss and random slowdowns. Noticed that the board is a little stained under some of the caps.

Yesterday, was rooting through the pile of Nubus cards at RE-PC. Found a SuperMac VideoSpigot card and a Radius DirectColor GX video card. Today, as of a few minutes ago, I picked up that Mac IIx motherboard on eBay. Looks like it needs a serious recapping. Once I get that done and pop a ROM SIMM into it, I should be able to turn my II into a IIx.

Picked up a IIfx ROM SIMM. Hope it works in the IIx board.

Anyway, reinstated the MDD. Running it in single processor mode, since the fan seems to be quieter that way. Seems to be the same, speed-wise as the DA with that computer's 1.2GHz G4 chip. Working on stripping down the DA so the board can be tantalized. Once it's done, the MDD will get torn down and that computer's board will get done as well.

IIcx is alive again. Alas, the built-in ROM chips on the board are toast. Immediately does a Sad Mac when powered up. So, swapped in a IIfx SIMM. Normal startup chime, and it boots just fine to 6.0.8, using the hard drive I pulled out of one of my SE's. So, at the moment, I have a slow IIci that's missing its VampireVideo and a normal IIci. IIx board unresponsive even with new PRAM batteries installed. Nothing happens. So, going to set that machine aside for now and wait for the IIfx board to arrive from LCPossum.

Mac II has been turned into a IIfx. Good thing I got that IIfx ROM SIMM with the IIx board. Needed it, since the one that came with the board was dead. The board does need to be recapped, but is functional as is with fresh PRAM batteries. Have the board loaded with the VideoSpigot card, an Asante ethernet card, Radius Pivot nubus interface, and a SuperMac Spectrum/24 PDQ+ video card that I picked up yesterday.

Am suspecting that the bad caps might be why the computer won't shut down on its own. Have to pull the power cord.

I think my IIfx needs some caps too, except I have the reverse problem; it won't stay on unless I hold down the power key (or button), and getting it on in the first place (and keeping it on without holding the power key the whole time) is sort of hit or miss.

Once it's on, though, it works fine.

Might be a weak PRAM battery, since the II, IIx, and IIfx are oddballs in that the softpower feature seems to be provided by one of the PRAM batteries, instead of trickle voltage from the power supply like the IIcx, IIci, IIsi, and subsequent Macs.

When my IIfx was odd with power issues, I replaced one of the batteries. It should have been fine for any other Mac - 3.4v or so - but the IIfx went crazy with it. Replacing the weak one so both were 3.6v+ made it a solid performer.

Entirely possible. One is new, the other was pulled from the IIci for testing purposes. Need to get a couple anyway...
