What is the fastest PPC Powerbook?

Although, if you include upgrades, you can reach 1.92 GHz with a (now discontinued) Daystar upgrade on any of the Aluminum PowerBooks.

It's odd, they have discontinued the Aluminum and Titanium upgrades, but they still make upgrades for the Pismo and Lombard! I'd rather upgrade my 12" PowerBook to 1.92 GHz than upgrade my Lombard to 550 MHz...

but its not worth the jump from 1.5 to 1.92 on my powabook.

I have the 1.67.

I'd upgrade to 1.9 just to do it, but I bet it would have been ridiculously expensive.

According to the DayStar site, the 12" upgrade only went up to 1.67GHz and the 17" to 1.83GHz. However, the 15" could be upgraded all the way to 2.0GHz!

I wonder how much that extra heat affects long term performance.

The pismo upgrades are probably just old leftover stock and they sold out of the newer upgrades.

for upgrading your G4 book they did solder in a new CPU and "OC´d" the thing if i remember right, hm?

seeing how hot my 1.5 12" gets now i dont really want a 1.67 in there tho.
