Pick the machine to boot. Copy everything you want to keep into the "Saved HD" disk. Go down to the Apple logo on the emulated monitor and select Settings. In there you'll see an option to "Save Disk Image". Works as described

hmm my reply disappeared, let me try again. Pick the machine you want to boot. Copy everything you want to export into the "Saved HD" image. Go down to the Apple logo on the emulated monitor and pick Settings. There's an export disk image button there and it works like you'd expect, for the "Saved HD".
