Weird Stuff Conquest! (And bad news)

2x NEW Central Point Software Apple II Universal Disk Controller cards. Supports Chinon 3 1/2 Inch, Laser FD100, Apple Unidisk, Apple Unidisk 3.5, and Macintosh 400K and 800K drives. $6 for the pair!

6x NEW Apple brand 1.44 MB Floppy Diskettes. $2 each. :)

Now for the bad news. In my rummaging I found a black NeXT speaker. I went to the front and asked if they had the rest of the computer, and they told me they already recycled it. :'(

Are you sure that Universal card supports Mac 800K drives?! If so, I might want to buy one off you, if you could part with it for such a reasonable price as you acquired the pair >_>

Says so on the box. :)

I keeping both, though. Sorry. They're going into my Apple IIe and IIgs. It serves a second function in the IIgs in that it bypasses copy protection. :D

Knowing Weirdstuff if I had to hazard a guess *if* the machine worked at all they probably had it out on the counter for a few weeks with an incredibly ridiculous price tag on it before they did.

(On more than one occasion at that place I've seen a "neat" piece of hardware sitting there for a few weeks with a "the bidders went crazy on eBay" price, which of course no one will pay, until it gets broken by some naked ape dic*ing around with it. *Then* it disappears. Since obviously no one is going to pay more for a broken TRS-80 or Atari than they would for a working one it's pretty obvious what happens.)
