wallstreet cardbus interestingness

I have my wallstreet boot and run off my 1GB CF card, which is of course in a CF - Cardbus adapter. I normally use it in the bottom slot, but today when I was booted off a CD I accidentially popped it in the top slot and it showed up as a 6MB unformatted disk. When I moved it back to the bottom slot it worked fine. This is not a problem, but any ideas as to why it's happening?

Do other cards work in the top slot? I don't mean if they just get power and are seen in ASP, I mean actually function.

I know in my PowerBook G3 Series Rev 2 that while my WPC54G v3 and macally FireWire cards are fully functional in the bottom slot, if I put either in the top slot it gets power and is seen as what it is but they do not properly function.

As to what is happening I don't think I can help you there and would like to know what is going on myself.

well apparently it was temporary, as it works now.

speaking of cardbus, anyone got a link to those USB drivers for OS 9 that will let my use my cardbus USB card with the powerbook?
