I am now on my way to owning a collection of Vinyl Records of which these will be the first two. As you can tell, you obviously now know one of the genres which I am into :p

What are you using as a turntable? I think it's great that Panasonic is still manufacturing the Technics SL-1200 series of turntables after what; 25 years? I'm not big into vinyl anymore, myself, because it's gotten expensive in my area (classical, opera and older pop is still fairly cheap, but jazz got pricey and so did new vinyl). That said, I have most of the parts I need to build a phono preamp, and I'd love to try out an old Thorens TD-124 mk II turntable.

I have few myself (about 300) from the mid sixty's to around 2003. After that I lost interest in the current music trend and got more in to light jazz/ambient music.

I use a Kenwood KD 500 Turntable and a Kenwood KA 405 Amplifier and Polk Audio Speakers for some really excellent listening. Have fun collecting the Vinyl.

I just bought a USB turntable last week. Great to have the old vinyl but it will be nice to be able to load the music into the iPod :)

Got it at Costco for C$138.00 which is the best price I have seen for these units. I haven't tried it yet due to some other ongoing projects.

I have a Denon DP-300F TurnTable (with weighted adjustable arm) coupled with a European Harmon-Kardon Receiver/Amplifier and Infinity Speakers. The whole setup is pretty price when it was bought new. I think the Record Player was like $500 new (and we had to special order it) and we have about 4 needles for it (still on the first one). It's a damn nice one too!

We will be getting a Bose Sub-Woofer soon once we get it fixed, but man is the system nice...

The infinity speakers we got are supposed to be towards the top of the line, so yeah, the music will definitely play good and sound great.

I am just sick of listening to ABBA, and Cat Stevens (although they are my parent's favorite and I like them too) but I need to start a collection of my own. Too bad you can't find full albumns for a decent price. Or even full albumns for that fact!

I thought that was what garage sales and thrift stores were for.

I have a bunch of records (albums as well as singles) I never listen to since my record player died. [xx(] ]'> One of these days I will get me a USB turntable or maybe an old stereo so I can schlurp them into my iMac and then my iPod. But I'm sort of waiting until one more or less falls into my lap. Congrats on your find.

I have a Califone 1420. It is built like a tank. I love it.

I get my used records from the local library (25 cents a piece) and thrift stores.

I've gotten some good stuff. [:)] ]'>
