TiBook 500 won't power up (fixed)

So last Sunday I went to fire up my TiBook 500, which worked perfectly the last time I used it. Hasn't been fired up in about a month, so naturally I expected the battery to be flat, but the machine to otherwise boot.

The machine is completely dead. At this point I've tried a different power adapter, tried different RAM, and stripped the machine down to the basic components needed to power on (logic board, LCD, speakers, one RAM module, PMU board) and still no joy. I do have, a sealed, new in box PMU board that is an Apple Service Part that was never used, which I'm going to swap in tomorrow. Any other ideas as to what could be up?

Hmm, TiBook just decided to come back to life. I just thought I'd try one more time after making this post, and it booted right up. Even put the HDD back in and it booted straight into Leopard. I'll leave it running tonight and see how it goes, but its working fine now. *shrugs* My guess is it just didn't like me embarassing it like that for all of teh intartubes to see. :)

I had the 5300c do that to me. In fact, the guy gave me a small discount when it wouldn't boot. I got it home, let it sit on the self for a day or two. Came back, plugged into the adapter to troubleshoot, and before I could even open the display:

BONGGG!

Way to go, yeah...in much the same way, my TiBook seems to have fixed itself. Had another look at it today, booted first time 'round. Put it back together and all is well - in fact I'm actually posting this from it.

The PRAM battery in this machine was flat when I got it, I've since removed it, however it does still have a good main battery (a Hong Kong eBay special), which still keeps the contents of PRAM alive.
