All sources indicate the Mac Plus was formally discontinued on October 15, 1990. We all know Apple's dates can be a little off and production can start or end after those dates (the pre-introduction production is to be expected, although some models, like the Classic, were made months in advance; I have personally seen a July 1990 Classic and have an August 1990 Classic in my possession--which I'm likely going to sell soon, in fact). The SE was apparently discontinued at the same time as the Plus, but there are a ton of early 1991 SEs out there.
Meanwhile, I haven't been able to find a 1990 Plus. I've seen late 1989 Pluses (mine was made in the 43rd week of 1989) but I haven't been able to find much of anything past that. I have seen a few that are about the same vintage as my Plus, but I am curious as to whether the Plus was out of production long before October 1990 and perhaps even by the end of 1989.
The Third Edition Macintosh Bible does state that the Plus is out of production (but not the SE, although it hints at its discontinuation); this book was written just before the Classic came out. I've all but conjectured that Plus production was shut down at some point before July-August 1990, but when, exactly did the last Plus roll off the line?
