Been looking at it, was very surprised the PSU has the same 140W spec as the 6500* which was a big step down from the 240W PSU of the 6400.
Differences between TAM and 6500 components:
- Bose amplifier board - How many watts does this thing rob before power even hits the umbilical? 6400/6500 amp is comparatively negligible?
- LCD - ? - Not a lot, but nothing on the 6500 like it.
- LCD Controller - ? - Not as much as a VidCard, but the combination of LCD/LCD controller
- 2.5" HDD - Net gain in TAM's favor of 5.5W @12V per one comparison, interested in specs of TAM/6500 drives?
__________ 2.5" Drive: 0.58A * 5V = 2.9W
__________ 3.5" Drive: 0.6A * 5V + 0.45A * 12V = 8.4W
- Any other differentiation?
Most curious about how much power becomes available when the 12V line on the HDD connector goes unused when an SD adapter/whatever replaces the motor of the OEM spinner?
Lots of things said here and there over the years about TAM's power limitations. Are the specs available in a DevNote for the TAM? Too much drivel about it on the web to find a DevNote, not on my usual goto.
* MY 6500 PSU is rated at 150W
