Starcraft OS9 LAN Play, Can't See Games

I have an S900 FrankenMac (8500/9500 clone) and an iLamp (800 MHz G4, 17") and I'm trying to play original Starcraft between them.   I didn't expect any problems, but they cannot see multiplayer games hosted on either machine in both AppleTalk and UDP networking.   TCP/IP and AppleTalk are turned on on both machines.   And they see each other if I turn File Sharing on.

They're connected through a Dlink Gigabit Switch, although the situation was the same when the iMac was hopping from a 10/100 Switch.  The AT&T 2-Wire Gateway is providing DHCP services.

Ideas?  I remember this as being pretty simple and fool proof, but I can't seem to get it to work.   It's the universe's way of making me waste my time on computer issues when I want to be having fun instead.

The S900 has 9.1 installed (same result when I was booted into 8.6) and the iMac has 9.2.2.   Could the newer version of 9 be the problem?

Thank you for any suggestions, humorous or helpful.

Never mind.

I had Version 1.09 on the iMac and version 1.15.1 on the S900.   Apparently, they do not play nice together over the LAN.  Updated the version of Starcraft on the iMac and all is now well.

I guess I'll leave this here for the next person who has the same problem.
