Same here. If it wasn't for the cost of delivery to Australia, I'd have bought one in a shot.

Ah the AlphaSmart. They're actually not that rare (in the US market at least - I think they must have been rolled out to K-12 education at some point) and there are a few different models to choose from. The king of the range (IIRC) is the AlphaSmart Dana, which runs PalmOS on a decent sized graphical LCD while retaining the full keyboard - a bit like an eMate.
