Great week in conquests for yours truly:
- two Newton: a MP 120 and a MP 2000 upgraded to 2100. Both work perfectly! The 120 lacks its stylus and is in German. I live in Switzerland, and German is a national language. I personnaly speak french, too bad I didn't think of asking the seller before. It came in a leather case, with a spare battery (as dead as the original) and its power brick. The 2000 has its stylus, and came in a big leather case with lot of room for flash cards, an 8 Mb and a 32 Mb cards, a modem, its power brick, the original 2000 CD and the 2100 upgrade CD, and the manuals. I paid around $ 120.- for both together. It wasn't cheap, but in my opinion it was worth it, since Newtons are scarce around here.
- a dead PowerBook 100. The seller said it was completely dead and wouldn't make any noise when powered on, but the power brick that came with was that of a StyleWriter. No wonder why it didn't work… :
When plugged in with my other PowerBook 100's power brick, it chmied, but the screen seems not to work, and the hard drive is stuck. I'll take the drive out and verify the screen wiring when I get some time, but I may re-sell that PowerBook as is soon. What is really cool and why I bought it in the first place, is because it has the external floppy drive. My working 100 lacks that drive, and in my opinion getting a drive alone would have been worth the $ 20.- I spent. And the spare parts are bonus!
- an internal Zip 100 drive for my Wallstreet. Not really useful, but for $ 10.- I couldn't resist to bid.
- a 15'' LCD Apple StudioDisplay. I haven't received this one yet, but it soon will complete my PowerMac G4 Cube setup as my main OS 9 machine.
Now, the next challenge is to free some time to play with my collection. I haven't touched it in weeks… :-/
