I recently bought a non-working color classic and was able to get it kind of running after recapping the logic board and the analog board with a kit from console5.com. When I press the power button on the keyboard, the power led on the front will briefly illuminate but then go out. It sounds like the computer wants to boot but doesn't. If the logic board is not inserted, the screen will power up and the fan will start running. I get same behavior with an Apple Keyboard II (M0487) and an Apple Design Keyboard (M2980). Also, I have a LC 575 logic board that gives me the same behavior. In order to get the computer to boot up with the color classic and the LC 575 logic board, I have to turn on the main power switch and then fully insert the logic board. After that, it will work fine and also works fine between reboots. I also left the computer plugged in for about a week and the power button the keyboard didn't allow the computer to boot up. Appreciate any thoughts on what to check to get this computer fully working.
